Southwold Cricket Club’s annual Golf Day was a huge success on Friday the 4th of October, as eight teams teed off to raise funds for the cricket club. In excess of £800 was raised for the club, which was thanks to the players and the local businesses who sponsored the holes.
The competition was Team Stableford, and the important results were:
1st place = ‘Team Southwold Electrical’ (Kevin Goodchild, Andy and David Hammett and Jeremy Ladd)
2nd place = ‘Team Hill’ (Daryl Hill, Richard Woodhall, John Pywell and Stuart Liddell)
3rd place = ‘Team Clifford’ (Trevor and Steffan Clifford, Roger Sweet and Rob Barley)
There were also some individual awards presented – notably, Carey Taylor for the longest drive, David Marsh nearest the pin on the 5th, Mick Nichols nearest the pin on the 18th, and Rob Barley scoring the most points individually – 43.
A big thanks to all involved, particular Trevor Clifford, Gareth Gorst-Allman and David Barbrook for their hard work organising the day, Joan Goldsmith for creating the posters for the tees, Southwold Golf Club for hosting the day and providing everyone with a meal in the evening and of course the sponsors for the holes, who were:
