Southwold U11s started their 2014 season in winning fashion as they beat Lowestoft away from home.
Captain Ezra Fuller won the toss and decided to bat and backed up his decision with good batting as he and Max Birtwhistle put away the bad balls with confidence. The Barbrook twins – Harry and Finley – batted well too, with good running putting pressure on the opposition.
Southwold scored 101/6 and in reply Lowestoft never looked likely to win. Accurate bowling was backed up by good fielding from the whole team and an excellent wicket keeping performance by Hamish, who took a catch a run out, was a highlight.
A good start to the season!
