Saturday XI Fixtures Released

Southwold begin their 2015 campaign in Level 5 of the Norfolk Cricket League on May 2nd away at Brooke, the first time the two clubs have met in senior cricket in a number of years.

For the following 17 weekends there is Saturday cricket, with home and away fixtures running on alternate weekends. The season reaches a climax with a home fixture against Great Witchingham, who’ll be looking to avenge their loss at The Common in the 2014 season.

There are plenty of new opponents for the fledging team in 2015. Horsford, North Walsham & Bacton and Ashmanhaugh & Barton Wanderers are all new opposition in senior cricket, though Southwold’s junior teams have played many of these clubs. Historically, the club has played against Diss and Brooke, but not for several years.

Due to the restructuring of the league during the off-season, Southwold has been placed in the ‘East’ side of Level 5, as they once again look to work up the levels. Therefore, there are plenty of games against opposition based closer to Southwold and competition for places will be as hot as ever.

Despite only losing two games in 2014, it was a disappointing season as a number of weather-affected abandonments meant that they finished 3rd overall.
