All Change for Southwold in 2016

In 2016, Southwold Cricket Club will take a step into the unknown, as the club continues with its plan to become more focused on Saturday cricket.

After many years in the Suffolk Cricket Alliance, the club has played its final season in the Sunday based league and will enter a 2nd XI into the Norfolk Cricket League – which will play in Division 5 East – to join the 1st XI, which was promoted to Division 3 East at the end of the 2015 summer.

The Sunday XI left the SCA as finalists of the Plate Competition and despite being roundly beaten by Needham Market, the team can be proud of their achievements in reaching the final at the end of a difficult season.

This will be the first time that the club will have a 1st and a 2nd team on a Saturday, and whilst the 1st XI captain will be Sam Booker – the former Saturday XI captain – the skipper of the 2nd XI is yet to be decided.

2016 fixtures for the 1st XI and the 2nd XI will be released when we get them
